Lalocura's clay pot distilled mezcales have built a steady cult following of chefs, writers, and mezcal-heads, who turn up at the palenque each day hoping to spend a few hours listening to maestro mezcalero Eduardo "Lalo" Ángeles tell stories, taste  the 20+ expressions he has resting in glass at any given time, and instagram a photo of his colorful dining room table covered in empty veladoras.

Before starting Lalocura in 2014, Eduardo Ángeles spent years working as the fourth generation master distiller of his family’s brand, where he combined a lifetime of working under his father, the late, great Don Lorenzo with a degree in agricultural engineering, and a philosophy that is all his own.

Lalocura is produced in Santa Catarina Minas, Oaxaca, where the agave piñas are roasted in an earthen oven, mashed by hand, fermented outdoors, and distilled in clay pots. It's a process that has produced great mezcal for centuries.

Our Empire Straight Rye is made exclusively from Hudson Valley Rye and Barley. And of course, Empire Rye is also an Empire Rye!

As with all of Coppersea’s “Heritage Methods Distilled” products, we mash Empire Rye in open-top fermenters for additional local terroir, twice-distill in True Fire Copper, direct-fired simple alembic stills, and barrel age our spirits at the ultra-low proof of 105.

TASTING NOTES

Initial nose of cedar, orange marmalade, cacao nibs opens to the broader palate on caramel, cherries, and cinnamon with a long finish of pecans, malted milk balls and campfire.

Mashbill of 80% raw rye, 20% malted barley. Bottled at 96 proof / 48% ABV

The latest series, Fusion #4, showcases the fusion between exemplary 13-year-old sourced bourbon with our own carefully-selected mashbills. As we grow, our bourbon ages a difference you can taste with each fusion release.

TASTING NOTES
A complex bouquet of apricot, black cherry, and cinnamon meet the oak and smoke of 13-year Kentucky bourbon. Rich maple and toffee coat the palate and lead to a lasting, hazelnut finish.

Tequila Insolente solves with all the character, aplomb, the frankness of putting to your delight, a striking and imposing Tequila in its aroma, in its flavors that palate a richness of notes without equal, that in each of its classes invite you to discover permanently the exquisite taste of the Blue Agave.

Dark coppery color that is characteristic of the agave ripening time, in addition to soft notes of nuts, wood, and sweet agave.

High Plains Rye Whiskey - High Plains Rye Whiskey is bottled at 48.5% and for the inaugural bottling release of High Plains, the JWRD team decided to do something unique. Jim Rutledge selected and expertly blended straight rye whiskeys from four different American distilleries: MGP in Indiana, Middle West in Ohio, Kentucky Artisan in Kentucky and New York Distilling Co. in New York.

Bold notes of candied lemon and grapefruit blend with flowery lavender and clover. Bottled at 114.2 proof, the finish remains refreshingly smooth. A perfect first mate with tonic, or for juicy cocktails ranging from sweet to tart.

A stunning natural violet blue liquid with a fresh citrus nose. Notes of clementine and prickly pear create a one-of-a-kind combination of the tastiest tropical and subtropical fruits. A finish of strawberry, watermelon, honeydew melon, fig, and banana marry perfectly with a crisp agave undertone. Long, rich and refreshing flavor.
