Riazul Extra Anejo Tequila

Riazul

750 ml | 40% ABV
Tequila | Extra Anejo

Two hundred years ago, the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico served as a key battlefront in the Mexican War of Independence. During the struggle, Maria Higinia Gomez served as a consigliere to the Mexican revolutionaries as they fought for their independence against Spanish colonialists. After their victory, the revolutionaries awarded her 10,000 acres of land for her service, most of which she then gave away to other rebels. The remaining 620 acres were handed down from generation to generation and virtually untouched until her great grandson, Iaki Orozco, the founder of Riazul Tequila, inherited the land in the late 1990s. Orozco recognized the the land's high elevation, cool climate and red volcanic soils or tierra roja would give rise to a blue agave that was more aromatic and sweeter than other agave being grown in Jalisco. In addition, Orozco learned that the baby blue agave plants he intended to use known to have higher sugar contents than traditional blue agave plants would release additional nectar when exposed to the plantation's cool climates, resulting in an even more flavorful tequila. After planting 100 initial blue agave shoots, which confirmed his hypothesis, Orozco worked tirelessly to plant another 175,000 shoots. Today, thousands of baby blue agave plants are being harvested on Orozco's plantation at their peak of maturity by expert jimadors. After harvesting the agave, the jimadors steam-bake their pias, or hearts, in ovens for 36 hours before crushing the pias and fermenting the extract. Following fermentation, Riazul Tequila is distilled twice in stainless steel pot stills. Riazul Extra Aejo is made from 100% blue agave, aged for four years, rested in American Oak for three years and finished for an additional year in Oloroso Sherry casks, allowing the tequila to develop opulent, harmonized flavors and aromas. With its lovely amber color, the Riazul Extra Anejo has vanilla aromas jumping from the glass. On the palate sweet agave flavors give way to ripe fruit and spice on the finish.

About the Brand

Created in a small town in the highlands of Jalisco, our founder Dwayne Johnson worked with a Mexican family-owned distillery to build a unique home on the grounds solely for Teremana - Destilería Teremana de Agave. Here they craft Teremana with a love for great tequila made the right way, in small batches, by hand.

TEREMANA IS ABOUT PEOPLE
At Teremana we have a simple goal; to create a high quality, responsibly sourced tequila that brings people together. One that starts conversations, creates laughter, and moments to appreciate those along with us on this journey of life.

SPIRIT OF THE EARTH
Teremana means spirit of the earth. From taking care of the land where we source our agave, to the painstaking process of creating our tequila, to the people we work and spend time with. Teremana stands for taking care of what

A PASSION FOR GREAT TEQUILA
At Teremana we have a passion for great tasting, well crafted ultra-premium tequila. We even had our copper pot stills created by a local artisan here at the distillery. Meticulously crafted high end spirits use copper pot stills, making for a cleaner, smoother liquid.

SUSTAINABILITY
At Teremana, we take sustainability seriously and we work to reduce our impact on the land.  We take 100% of the left over agave fibers from production and turn them into natural compost that is used as an organic fertilizer for the agave fields.  We also use a state of the art water filtration system that cleans the waste water left over from production.  We will continue to strive to reduce our footprint and to take care of our home for generations to come.

FROM OUR FOUNDER
After years of hard work, this is truly a dream come true. My team and I are committed to bringing you the highest in quality tequila, because quality, the people, the land and legacy are what matter most. From all of us here at Teremana, we invite you to COME HAVE A DRINK. DWAYNE JOHNSON

Tequila Ocho Plata Tequila

Tequila Ocho

750 ml | 40% ABV
Tequila | Plata

The beginnings of Ocho Tequila can be traced to 1937, when the Camarenas first started making tequila. It is a collaboration between Carlos Camarena and his family and Tomas Estes, owner of multiple Mexican restaurants and bars. He has been passionately promoting and selling tequila since 1976, making him a perfect partner for the Camarenas. The Master Distiller Carlos Camarena is a third generation of tequileros, operating in Jalisco, Mexico. He is well-respected for making high-quality spirits, which have accumulated a respectable amount of awards over the years. Ocho Tequila is the culmination of the visions of these two gentlemen. Made according to tradition from 100% agaves, grown in their own fields, they always strive for perfection, never rushing the process. They are the first to mark not only the year of production on each bottle, but also specify the exact field in which the agaves were grown. "Ocho" translates to "eight" and the number is deeply ingrained in the distillery's history and operations. Out of the first samples produced by the Camarenas, the 8th was chosen. It's the number of years agaves need to fully ripen, as well as the number of kilograms of agave needed to produce a liter of Ocho tequila. It's also the exact number of days that takes for a freshly delivered batch of fruit to be turned into unaged tequila. Carlos Camarena has 8 siblings and the family has been distilling for 8 decades. Every bottle of Ocho Tequila is marked with the year of production, as well as the estate or "rancho", from which the agaves come, not unlike fine wines. This makes the bottles highly collectible. Ocho Plata Tequila is the unaged expression, made from 100% blue agave, then bottled at 80 proof. It is the purest tribute to the agaves of the Arandas region and the Camarena agave fields.

Tequila | Blanco

The story of G4 Tequila started in 1937 when the Camarena family first started making tequila. The Jalisco Highlands in Mexico are the tequila capital of the world and the name Camarena counts among the most illustrious in the spirit's rich history. After working with his brother Carlos for years, the fourth-generation tequilero (G4) Felipe Camarena decided to open his own distillery in 2011 and the Destilera El Pandillo was born. Named after his grandfather's favorite bull, the distillery proudly displays the old tahona stone from the family distillery that burnt down during the Mexican Revolution before it even became operational. G4 takes pride in taking things slow and respecting the land and tradition. They grow their own agaves without using any chemicals, and they are never harvested before fully ripening. They are cooked in traditional stone ovens for 22 hours, after which the remains are converted into fertilizer. Copper-pot stills are used for the first and second fermentation and many details in the production process ensure power efficiency. They have also strived to use solar and wind power, as well as harvesting rainwater. As all their tequila, the G4 Tequila Blanco expression is made from 50% spring water and 50% harvested rainwater and bottled at 80 proof. "Im not in the business of making fancy bottles. Im in the business of making great tequila," says Felipe of their spirits and this unaged version shows it with a smooth agave-forward profile that is as crisp as it is complex.

All the maturation takes place in-house, often giving the spirits twice the amount of aging necessary for a particular category. This gives the end product an exceptional smoothness and complexity. The Aejo has spent at least 18 months in ex-bourbon American oak barrels, which leads to an exceptionally smooth character. As all their tequila, the Aejo is made from 50% spring water and 50% harvested rainwater and bottled at 80 proof.
