BLACK DIRT Rye is distilled from 100% NY rye grown in upstate New York.  The mash bill consists of 90% Rye and 10% malted rye.  100 proof with a dark amber color.  The whiskey is complex offering pronounced notes of caramel, rye spice with a chocolate and malt finish.  A great sipping rye and exceptional when mixed in cocktails.

A blended Bourbon Whiskey, balanced, robust and sweet. Combines big, bold flavors of 4 year bourbon with quaffable younger whiskeys. Gently charred oak complements bourbon’s vanilla notes with a dessert wash on the palate.

Rye Crop 001 combines the youthful boldness of WhistlePig's estate whiskey, with the richness of the distillery's best 5 to 6 year old whiskeys and their award-winning 12 year old whiskey. Located in a 150-year-old renovated dairy barn, WhistlePig's distillery is the culmination of five diligent years. Opened in 2015, we distill 7 days a week in our unique copper pot still designed by world-renowned Master Distiller Dave Pickerell.

In November of 2019, Wolves released Winter Run as it’s second release of its signature blend, this time with the addition of American single malt whiskey, aged 9 years in used French Oak. The 1338 bottles sold out almost immediately.

Detailed Description

For Revolution Rye, the mash bill is 100 percent rye (similar to the Canadian rye whiskey used by a few different brands). Interestingly, the Revolution Rye mash bill uses three types of rye grain, including a chocolate malted rye. A portion of the rye is toasted, which Mad River claims releases aromatic chocolate and mocha notes into the distillate.

Nose: Out of a Glencairn glass, the nose has very strong hay and cereal grain notes. Underneath the almost overpowering grassy notes, faint cocoa notes that the toasted rye allegedly adds.

Palate: On the front, the cereal grain notes carry over from the nose. As the flavor unfolds, the cocoa notes make a brief appearance but are pretty quickly overpowered by bitter grassy notes.

Finish: The finish is grassy, dry, bitter, and unfortunately lingering.
