Espanita Reposado is aged for 6 months in slightly charred American white oak barrels that are sourced from Bourbon manufacturers in Kentucky. The previous use of the barrels in Bourbon production results in smoother tequila and adds delicious bourbon-driven notes.

Charring the casks caramelizes and releases sugars and other delicious flavoring agents, allowing for exquisite vanilla and caramel notes to develop. As a result, Espanita Reposado offers a harmonious balance between subtle oaky and vanilla undertones acquired from wood and robust, earthy Agave flavors.

TASTING NOTES

COLOR: Unblemished purity. Golden color.

AROMA: Succulent and creamy with wafting scents of spiced butter, vanilla butterscotch, jasmine tea, crystallized ginger and underlying saline, zesty and slightly peppery herbal presence of freshly roasted agave.

FLAVOR: Entry is notably creamy and focused on roasted agave with a wealth of flavors including walnut, kola nut and subtle notes of sassafras and sweet tarragon. Velvety, vibrant, fruity body.

FINISH: Long finish with notes of candied banana, coconut cream and Muscat Blanc à Petits Grains.

COCKTAILS: Perfect in Margarita, Paloma, Tequila Sunrise, Batanga and Mexican Mule.

The Kentucky Owl St. Patrick’s Limited Edition is a blend of Kentucky Straight Bourbons varying in age from 4 – 8 years old each coming in with their own unique flavor characteristics.

Rich caramel and vanilla from some more rare well aged Bourbons. Spice and fruit from Bourbons with a higher rye content, and a feel of sweetness and citrus from Wheated Bourbon. All carefully mingled to bring out a robust, well balanced Bourbon experience.​

TASTING NOTES: Orange jam on the nose with flavors of vanilla. A dry lingering finish backed with baked apples with a creamy texture.

The name Labiette Castille comes from two specific localities belonging to the village of Sorbets (Gers, France) that are called: “Labiette” on the western part of the vineyards, and “Castille”, to the east. Our logotype represents a Knight of the King, paying tribute to the most famous musketeer D’Artagnan.

Our house was founded in the late 19th century by a native family of Sorbets and is owned by the Lesgourgues family since the mid-1970’s.

Grapes
The house uses the main grape varieties coming from the vineyard located in the Bas Armagnac. Predominantly Baco 22A and Ugni Blanc, and secondary Colombard and Folle Blanche.

Wines
The white wines obtained offers good acidity and low alcohol content that are suitable for traditional distillation.

Distilling
The wines are distilled in a continuous “Armagnacais” column still: this is the perfect way for distilling our wines in Armagnac, hence capturing most of the flavors contained in the wines. Each grape varietal is distilled separately, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week during the autumn season until Christmas time.

The freshly “brandy” comes out from the column still at around 60% alcohol.

Aging
The “brandies” are then stored in French oak barrels (430L each).
The Labiette Castille Armagnacs age in 100% local Gascony oak. These casks will fit best our Armagnacs, giving them time to grow and to capture the genuine flavors and tannins from the oak. Annually, the cask will lose about 3% of evaporation. This qualitative phenomenon is known as “Angel’s share” (la Part des Anges in French).

Blending
Our cellar master, with the members of the Lesgourgues family, oversees the blending (“assemblage”) choosing the different eaux-de-vie that will be making the future Armagnac.
This blending mission is critical in the house’s capacity to create the most exquisite yet singular Armagnacs.

Bottling
All of our Armagnacs are progressively reduced in alcohol, and most of them are bottled at 40% alc after a non-chilled filtration.

Labiette Castille Bas Armagnac VS

Produced in the most coveted region of Bas Armagnac, the Labiette Castille Bas Armagnac VS is a blend of 15 different brandies, each from 3 to 5 years old.  This Armagnac VS is soft and round, with aromas of orange blossom, hyacinth, pear, and honey!  Perfect for outstanding craft cocktails. Also, serve as an aperitif with tonic and a slice of lime - or neat on ice or slightly chilled.  

Produced on the famed estate of Chateau de Laubade, the largest and most-awarded family Armagnac estate in France, this Armagnac is fully traceable from vineyard to bottle.  All four varieties of grapes used in its production - Ugni Blanc, Folle Blanche, Baco, and Colombard - are grown, vinified, aged, and blended on the 260-acre estate under the watchful eyes of the Lesgourgues family who have owned the estate since 1974.

Going beyond typical aged tequila, Avión Reserva Cristalino marries silky smoothness with aged complexity.

Meticulously crafted with hand selected agaves grown at the​ highest elevations. Avión agaves are slowly roasted in brick ovens and carefully distilled to assure an incredibly smooth and finely balanced finish. After resting in select american oak barrels, the blend of our finest añejo tequila, with a touch of extra añejo is double-charcoal filtered to achieve cristalline clarity and unparalleled smoothness.

TASTING NOTES

AROMA: Primary notes of oak, vanilla, caramel and warm spices like cinnamon. These aromas are complimented by hints of minerality, lime zest and fresh agave.

TASTE: Creamy notes of vanilla, pecans, roasted agave and pineapple. Agave with bright notes of fresh herbs and minerality.

This magnificent spirit highlights the masters distiller's craft by exhibiting a perfect balance of resting time, oak, butterscotch, subtle plumb & natural Agave taste.

Pink Grapefruit infused silver tequila. A beautiful light pink liquid with sweet and tart citrus flavors layered with rich agave taste.

Agave is harvested by hand and baked in traditional steam ovens before being mashed, fermented, and distilled. The all-agave tequila is aged in barrels for up to 30 days before being charcoal filtered to produce a perfectly clear crisp tequila.

Distilled in small batches in the back room of a concealed distillery in the Western part of Belgium, unusual botanicals such as malted barley and cubeb pepper are used to give Blind Tiger Gin its daring and invigorating character.

Blind Tiger’s full complexity is best to be enjoyed neat or over ice. Served as a Dry Martini with a twist, the Blind Tiger adds spice and notes of orange to this classic cocktail.

In a Gin & Tonic, the spiciness is tempered by the sparkles of the tonic and the quinine emphasizes its otherwise modest citric character. Any dry & neutral tonic works fine.

Our botanicals (except the cubeb berries) are macerated & distilled in a copper pot still (400l). We add the double distilled cubeb pepper afterwards.

Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon-based wine, in the manner of classic Left Bank wines from Pauillac.

VINTAGE

Generous rains fell prior to the 2017 vintage, ending an unprecedented 5-year throughout California. Budbreak occurred a few days later than normal in 2017, which is typical for wet years. Crop set was light, with yields on this Cabernet block in the Willow Creek District of Paso Robles reaching just 2.3 tons per acre. This late-ripening block of Cabernet Sauvignon was more than eight weeks away from harvest during a September heat wave, so it came through the heat spike unharmed. In this vintage, we saw a higher level of tannin structure and flavor ripeness, echoing the string of great vintages from ‘12 to ‘14.

The inspiration for this blend comes from the Grand Cru wines of the Pauillac district of Bordeaux, which are traditionally composed from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, with occasional acccents from Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and Petit Verdot. Our J. Lohr winemaking team is given the freedom to emulate these great Bordeaux wines through the prism of our world-class Paso Robles fruit.
