New England Barrel Company Stouted Bourbon Private Barrel # 17-45 Bourbon
In May 2021, Lord Hobo Brewing Company (Woburn, MA) picked up seven Kentucky bourbon that housed whiskey used in the production of Batch 2021-03 of New England Barrel Company’s (NEBCo.) Small Batch Select Bourbon. These barrels were then filled with a stout developed by Lord Hobo and left to sit for just over four months.
In September 2021, these barrels were emptied of the stout and brought back to NEBCo where they were filled with single barrels of Kentucky Bourbon aged 3 years, 11 months, and 14 days.
The bourbon was allowed to finish for 3.5 month in these barrels adding complementary notes of the chocolate, toffee, and hints of coffee to the underlying bourbon.
Bottled at cask strength and lightly, non-chill filtered for your enjoyment and drinking pleasure, Barrel 17-45 is limited to 196 bottles.
