A Pinnacle of Estate-Grown Tequila Craftsmanship – Herradura Selección Suprema Extra Añejo Tequila
Herradura Selección Suprema Extra Añejo Tequila represents the highest expression of Casa Herradura’s legacy, rooted in agave cultivation that began in 1870 at the San José del Refugio Hacienda in Jalisco. Crafted exclusively from estate-grown blue Weber agave, this tequila reflects generations of patience, tradition, and uncompromising quality.
Tasting Experience
Aroma: Elegant layers of dark vanilla, rose petals, cinnamon, and intense citrus.
Palate: Rich and complex, revealing baked apple, pineapple, citrus zest, vanilla pod, and caramel.
Finish: Exceptionally creamy and long, with lingering warm spices and refined sweetness.
Craftsmanship
The agave used for Selección Suprema can take up to ten years to mature, reaching remarkable size and concentration. After harvesting, the piñas are slow-cooked for approximately 26 hours in traditional stone and brick ovens, unlocking deep sweetness and aroma. Fermentation lasts up to seven days with natural airborne yeasts, followed by double distillation. The tequila is then aged for four years in American white oak barrels previously used for Kentucky bourbon, imparting extraordinary depth and elegance.
