The two different styles of sherry casks that are used to craft The GlenDronach are a balanced mix of Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso sherry casks. Renowned as the masters of sherry cask maturation, our Highland whiskies are recognized for their deep colour and rich flavour profiles, which range from sweet fruity flavours, from the Pedro Ximenez casks we select, to the dry and nutty notes, from superb Oloroso casks.

This superb, richly sherried single malt whisky is matured in the finest Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso Sherry casks, following a first maturation in American Bourbon casks. This long maturation in sherry casks lends the GlenDronach 12 a full-bodied, depth of taste, far beyond its years. Natural colour and bottled at 86 proof.

San Francisco World Spirit Competition 2018: Double Gold

The world’s first blended Scotch whisky selectively finished* in Japanese Mizunara oak casks. Chivas Mizunara is a perfect marriage of Scottish craft with Japanese tradition, creating a truly worldly blend. A wonderfully indulgent whisky with a touch of spice.

Inspired by the Japanese discernment and art integrated with the world of whisky, Master Blender Sandy Hyslop travelled to Japan to seek out the best Mizunara oak casks. Following visits to a Japanese cooperage and meeting with the Master Cooper, they together agreed the exact specification of the casks and built a relationship that stands strong today.

CASK FINISH: A portion of this blended Scotch whisky is finished in Japanese Mizunara oak casks for an aromatic finish

NOSE: Rich and fruity, presenting aromas of pear and orange.

NOSE: An intoxicating burst of maraschino cherry, ripe bramble and dark chocolate mint with hints of orange bitters and walnut liqueur.

PALATE: Honey-glazed apricot and ripe fig with a crescendo of black cherry, angelica and muscovado. Long and enveloping finish with dark manuka honey, herbal bitters and dark chocolate.
