Cascade Moon isn’t about whisky memes or tropes, it’s about art, expression and the enjoyment of whisky.
We named our limited editions Cascade Moon as a nod to our history of our whisky being ‘as mellow as moonlight’ and nights together at our impressive Tennessee location. Taking cues from the vintage advertising of Cascade Hollow and the world of George Dickel our new brand strikes a balance between tradition and the contemporary.
Nose is bright and fruity, with notes of raspberries, pineapple and coconut. Surprising savory grain character on the palate with a hint of brothy salinity, and a delicate finish.

Celebrating 150 years of passion for crafting quality whisky, CASCADE MOON EDITION NO. 2 continues to set the tone for the future of the whisky category while looking toward the next 150 years. Further tying back to George Dickel’s history, the liquid for this second release was taken from a small batch blend curated around the first barrel of TN Whisky filled after the distillery returned from shutdown in 2003. This small batch blend used less than 20 barrels, holding some of our best whiskies aged at least 17 years that are befitting a celebration of a 150 year heritage.
Hand-selected by Nicole Austin, this Cascade Moon release complements the series by offering a complex and mature rye addition to the lineup. The barrels containing aging rye arrived from Indiana to Cascade Hollow in 2012, where they spent another nine years in Cascade Hollow’s single story rickhouses. The temperature conditions led to a gracefully slow maturation, bringing the beautiful and unique notes of the whisky forward. At 13-years old, this rye is both delightfully balanced and sophisticated. The whisky is a mellow and enjoyable rye at an ideal 100-proof.
AGED 15 YEARS
This elegant spirit was distilled from a mash of corn, rye, and malt and placed in new, charred American oak barrels to age in our single-story warehouses.
As a result of the curious conditions experienced by these barrels during the aging process, the proof dropped below the minimum standard to be called a whisky. The result is a complex and sophisticated spirit with a light and easy drinking character.
